Seeing Through My Eyes

Pinterest

It happens quiet a bit. Usually when I take all the kids out to the store with me, or to the park, or even venture out with all of them in tow to the dollar theater. People stare, and then give a little laugh and ask, “are these all yours?”

Yes, I say {secretly trying to come up with some clever sarcastic remark, but then that wouldn’t be very Christ-like of me would it?}

So, I simply say… yes, and smile really big. And then, most of the times, I get remarks like:

Oh, I don’t know how you do it….

Wow, you must have your hands full…

Good grief, do you ever get any sleep?

Wow, I don’t see how you manage… oh and your expecting another one? You must just be asking for trouble!

And then I just smile and say, well, I am very blessed. Because I know, they don’t see what I see everyday.

Sisters that laugh together and are silly and sweet…

A boy that loves snakes and frogs and all things icky…

Bike rides that are loved more than life itself…

Quite moments of creativity outside on a beautiful day….

Water balloon fights that bring laughter and smiles…

I know they don’t see what I get to see everyday… six beautiful blessings that I am proud to be mama of….

    And every single one of those blessings has a name. What we would miss out on if we stopped when the world says enough. It has taken me until this pregnancy to realize this. When I first found out I was expecting I was apprehensive, mostly just because I was worried about what people would think. I do have to say I’m tired of the “you know how this happens, right?” comment, but I am to the point where I finally am not worried about how many children others think we should have and I am so excited to meet our newest blessing in September. And who knows what other blessings are to come!

      SO true Jenni!! I’ve been there too… apprehensive about what folks would think… I’m not really anymore, but I still hate the comments! I’m excited for y’all too! :)
