Cholesterol is one of those necessary evils. Your body needs it, but too much of the bad stuff isn’t good.
Recently my hubby had all his blood work done and his cholesterol levels came back slightly elevated. According to the doctor, not a huge concern but he recommended a low dosage cholesterol pill to put him on.
We’ve opted instead to go the natural route and then retest in two months to see what kind of effect it has. My suspicion is that we’ll see lower numbers.
There are a few different essential oils that can aid in reducing cholesterol. My favorite, and what we will be using for my hubby, is what I like to call the Triple Threat.
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) has a light, fresh, citrus aroma with earthy undertones. Refreshing, rejuvenating, stimulating, and balancing, it inspires and improves mental clarity. Lemongrass also supports the circulatory system* and has a score of 17,765 on the antioxidant ORAC scale. Research was published in the Phytotherapy Research Journal regarding the powerful properties of topically applied lemongrass.
Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) has a sweet, spicy fragrance that is stimulating and revitalizing. An important ingredient in our Thieves blend due to its wonderful immune-enhancing properties, its principal constituent is eugenol, which is used in the dental industry to numb the gums. Clove is the highest-scoring single ingredient ever tested for its antioxidant capacity on the ORAC scale.
NingXia Red® is a powerful antioxidant drink that contains whole Ningxia wolfberry puree—a super blend of blueberry, aronia, cherry, pomegranate, and plum juices, natural stevia extract, grape seed extract, pure vanilla extract, and orange, yuzu, lemon, and tangerine essential oils. Its health benefits include support from head to toe, via a whole body nutrient infusion. NingXia Wolfberries have been cherished for centuries for its health, energy, and longevity benefits. Whole Ningxia wolfberries and other nutrient-dense fruit juices make NingXia Red the perfect choice for optimizing wellness and stepping up to a whole new level of health.

Of course, what speaks more to me than anything are testimonies of how oils have worked for otheres. Here are a few real-life folks that can attest to how essential oils helped lower their cholesterol:
I lowered my cholesterol the natural way I have been trying to get my cholesterol under control more and was using lemongrass and rosemary and lavender. The rosemary was making my blood pressure higher so dropped that and was only taking 3 drops of lemongrass. Well someone said something about adding clove oil. So about a month before my blood work was due I started 4 drops of lemongrass and 4 drops of clove oil two times a day in a capsule. Below are the results of my blood work after only one month of those two oils:
My results were:
Total: 234 down to 220
LDL—160 down to 144
HDL—45 up to 52
All in the right direction! I guess that is why the cardiologists office didn’t call and harass me to start on another medication.
Before my husband started taking Ningxia Red, his Triglycerides were 317. His HDL was 38.His LDL was 176. After only a few months of taking 1 oz of Ningxia Red every morning, his Triglycerides is 137. His HDL is 47. And his LDL is 119. His levels are now within range and his doctor is pleased. I am looking forward to seeing the results of the next test as I am positive they will be even more optimal. In addition, his energy level has increased. With all the other added benefits of Ningxia Red, our home will never be without it.
My doctor had me try statin drugs twice, and both times I had to stop because of the very negative side-effects. I had heard that using 4 drops of Clove and 4 drops of Lemongrass in a capsule taken internally, twice a day would help to lower cholesterol. I did that for exactly 30 days and then had my blood levels checked. The LDL reading went from 180 to 166! I’m going to now up my dosages to 6 drops of each of the above oils twice a day.
