12 Days of Christmas Giveaways {Day 11}

Day 11

As a new Catholic, I am still learning SO much about my Faith. And there are so MANY beautiful things to be found. I am also teaching my kids these new and beautiful truths and prayers. We are also learning and teaching the children about Mass – the central act of worship of our Catholic Faith.

Kathryn, from Juniper Plum, has some wonderful resources for helping children to learn about the Mass, prayers, saints and the Faith. She sent me a set of her Keys to Mass for Children, and they are absolutely beautiful.

“Keys to Mass” consist of a key ring of 11 holy cards with prayers on the backs. The holy cards are professional prints on thick cardstock of Kathryn’s original hand painted icons. The prayers are printed on the backs and then laminated. The prayers are meant for children: short, sweet, and meditative on the icon they come with. The prayers can be prayed at any time (Eucharistic adoration, daily prayer time, etc.) but are especially appropriate for Mass. For older kids (6-8), this is a nice alternative to a prayer book with an introduction to icons. For younger kids (3-5), this is both fun to handle and is religious and colorful to look at. Its perfect for children at that age when its hard to pay attention, but they are slowly learning how to raise their thoughts to God.

These cards are really well made and I told Kathryn I was going to be ordering two more sets from her soon because my three littles were fighting over them! {She also has a great set of lace up cards that are wonderful for holding little ones attention as well!}

Kathryn gets her inspiration from watching her own children. She says, “I watch what they are drawn to play with on their own, and what seems to capture their imaginations. I then try to find a way to reproduce that in the spiritual world. I want my children’s toys to draw the child in and once there lead him to Jesus. They are not just about keeping children entertained in Mass, but more about bringing Jesus to them on their level.”

Kathryn is giving away one set of the Keys to Mass cards to one reader AND is offering a 10% off coupon code for you good for a week. Just use “NOV10″ when you check out!
